DAY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES – DSA
Our community outings program provides participants the opportunity to engage in fun, inclusive, and well-planned activities that promote social interaction, skill development, and community integration.
Social ConnectionS
Each outing encourages participants to connect with peers, fostering new friendships, strengthening social skills, and providing opportunities for positive and meaningful social interactions in a safe environment.
Skill Building
Via hands-on activities, participants develop valuable life skills, such as navigating public spaces, managing personal needs, and enhancing communication, promoting a sense of independence and confidence.

Our trained staff offer support tailored to each participant’s unique needs, ensuring everyone can fully engage in the experience at their own comfort level and ability.
Engaging Activities
Participants experience a wide range of enjoyable outings, from nature walks, picnics, and beach days, to museum tours and local events, ensuring there’s something for every interest and ability level.
Transportation provided
Safe and accessible transportation is provided for all outings, ensuring participants travel comfortably and securely to each destination with the support of our trained staff.

We prioritize safety and planning, with detailed outing protocols, staff training, and support strategies to ensure all participants can enjoy the activities comfortably and confidently.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Direct Support Professionals seek to involve clients in community programs that improve the well-being and quality of life of each individual being supported.
STRANGER DANGER
Supports and cues are given in order to become aware of the stranger danger concept. Prompts are given to use the buddy system, avoid giving personal information to strangers etc.
MONEY MANAGEMENT
Assistance is provided with developing a plan for day-to-day expenses and long term planning including budgeting, banking, understanding pay bill payment, prioritizing expenses and retirement planning.
SOCIAL & LEISURE
Activities include leisure activities in social settings, such as e.g. sports, community clubs, fitness programs. Relationships with others is usually a major factor in these activities.
COMMUNITY INCLUSION

IN-HOME SUPPORTS
These supports are intended to maximize the independence of an individual in the home. This includes housekeeping, bill payment, kitchen skills, laundry, general safety and other activities of daily living.
GENERAL SAFETY
With practical applications, these supports focus on remaining protected from harm or other non-desirable outcomes online, in the home, neighborhood and social settings.
MONEY MANAGEMENT
Assistance and guidance is provided around financial transactions in stores and other purchases. Price comparison cues are given, and prompts to identify the quality of products before purchasing.
MEAL PREP
Supports are provided with weekly planning and preparation of start-to-finish meals. This includes following a recipe, buying ingredients, kitchen safety, cooking and dietary goals and needs.
HOUSEKEEPING
Assistance is provided with weekly planning and preparation of any indoor household cleaning and organizing tasks. This includes vacuuming, dusting, laundry, cleaning solution application and safety etc.
INTERNET SAFETY
Safety guidance and knowledge is provided to identify security risks on-line pertaining to private information associated with using the internet, as well as self-protection from computer crime in general.
PERSONAL CARE
Assistance is provided with the physical needs of individuals who otherwise are unable to care for themselves including tasks such as bathing, grooming, management of bodily functions, and overall hygiene.

We provide consistent, safe and reliable transportation to goal oriented community activities and resources. In addition, we offer guidance on navigating public transportation.

IN & AROUND CARS
Supports are focused around passenger safety and being aware of moving vehicles while in and around parking lots or street spaces. Cues are provided to enhance these abilities.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Assistance and accompaniment is provided with developing the knowledge to navigate the public transit system. I addition, skills necessary are developed in order to plan trips and remain safe.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
All drivers of Social Abilities are required to have a valid drivers license and current auto insurance under their name which is verified every six months.
RELIABILE & RESPONSIBILE
Direct Support Professionals provide safe and reliable transportation and they are responsible individuals who are required to arrive on time with consistent performance.
CLIENT CENTERED
All transportation is client-centered, meaning, transportation is only provided to client related activities and destinations are in line with goals as outlined in each Individual Support Plan.
